selfie vs. portrait

there both similar due to its a photo of myself and also they both kinda represent the same things there different from someone else took it and also I feel like it kinda shows who I am a little better as a person then the selfie does.

I like the portrait way better do to it was shot on a real camera so better quality and also it shows my whole face I don't really do selfies with my whole face so it was kinda weird but I feel like the portrait is better. 

I like color due to I feel ike it can show case someone in a way on who they are and how they are different from everyone else due to a black and white everyone looks kinda the same.

taking my own photo i just take a quick one and don't really do anything to it, but a portrait it takes time to make the person look good and its more fun when someone else takes photos of you vs yourself taking one.

the quality of the portrait is so much better due to its a camera vs a photo camera and a phone camera isn't really meant to take good quality photos vs a DSLR and there meant to. 

I feel like they should pick one or the other due to show case who they are and how they can make a photo basically come to life on how the persons personality is and a portrait is a good way to do so.  

thematic identity

My thoughts on this project was its gonna be cool. Due to it shows who I am as a person and the things make me feel for example anger my brother. It just represents who I am as a person and thats pretty cool. 

My favorite photos are the vans shirt one it really plain but it turned out pretty good on how I edited it with the paint brush to make the white stripes it makes me feel kinda hope due to if I ever make a company to if I don't do good to always push forward and pursue what my passion is, also with the photo of my brother just a simple portrait but I edited it to make it have a feel of him behind some type of bars and there was a light shining down on him but it was just the paint brush tool it makes me feel the emotion angry due to its my brother and we fight sometimes. after that is the picture of the car rims I put tempting in for that due to there really nice rims but they are super expensive.

the end result Im not a big fan of it because I like raw photos with a little bit of editing. I think if you do combine photos together it just kinda ruins the photo that you took and it doesn't catch your eye as much as a photo like the combined on and how it catches eyes but I just think a slightly edited photo if done right looks better. 

I think the project really reps who I am as a person due to all the 25 photos that I put in and can show case you I am as a person.

PHOTOGRAPHIC THEMES

Investigate each one of these themes with a single photograph (or a series of images). These words are very broad for a reason...I’d like to you showcase personal thoughts, feelings, and emotions through a static image.  Each student will utilize their own notions of the word and their photographic knowledge in this assignment.  In the end you will create an abstracted portrait of yourself taking a more concept-based approach to your art.

·     Students are encouraged to use whatever photographic tool they use to capture images for this project (cell phone, DSLR, etc.)

·     Shots can be candid or set-up depending on the nature of your idea

Sarah Bellis

Sarah was super easy to work with. I feel like Sarahs personality is that she's a little shy, happy, doesn't really talk so a little quick. she was super easy to work with I didn't have any problems she expressed her self she knew how to angle herself for the lights and I feel like it ended up being really good and wasn't difficult at all. the portraits identify the first one that she is shy, the second one that she's happy, after that the third one is the same happy, fourth the same, and finally that she's could be sad sometimes or that she thinks about things a lot due to how her hands are placed and also how her head is down. during this project these photos pretty much told me a little about who Bella is and how her personality is.

I feel like I did a good job on capturing how Bella is and what her personality is. It was kinda a struggle for me because I don't really use a B&W background but after I edited the photos they came together really good in my option.
